Welcome to Harlowton

Harlowton prides itself in being one of the friendliest towns you'll ever know. People smile and wave, take their hats off and make neighbors and strangers welcome. Harlowton is known for its community-mindedness, warmth, and good cheer. Drive by or surf in and "Say Hello to Harlo".

Harlowton, Montana extends a warm, neighborly welcome! Whether you're seeking that special place to call home, searching for a new business opportunity, or just wishing for a quiet place to spend some time, it's all to be found in "Harlo" !

Nestled between the snow-capped peaks and forests of four mountain ranges, Harlowton is located near the geographic center of Montana on US Highway 12 and US Highway 191. This central location places "Harlo" within 2 hours travel time of four major Montana cities. Harlowton offers fresh air and the close knit harmony characteristics of Rural America. The Musselshell Valley boasts a climate few Montana communities can claim. Mild winters with occasional "Chinooks" and very few days of below zero temperatures are complimented by moderate summers with days seldom reaching into the 90's. This climate and the low humidity combine to make pleasant outdoor opportunities.

The Kiwanis Chili Dinner and the Lighting of the Train

It’s getting close to being that time of the year again and all of the festivities that come with it. The Kiwanis Chili Dinner and the lighting of the train engine will be on Tuesday, December 1st this year therefore, that means that we will also be having the Christmas Parade of Lights that evening. Last year we had only 5 or 6 entrants in the parade but they were absolutely phenomenal so this year let’s see if we can get more ‘out of the park’ participants and make this a Christmas Parade to remember! If you would like to be in the parade contact Kim at 632.4694. Thanks!
