Pond in Chief Joseph Park

Chief Joseph Park (named for the revered Nez Perce Indian)
is one of the most beautiful city parks in the Rocky Mountain states.
The park sits on the southwest edge of Harlowton.

Chief Joseph is best known for the Howard Holloway Arena,
site of the Annual 4th of July Rodeo
and many other outdoor events.

Chief Joseph Park contains a fishing pond,
camping area and picnic pavilions,
ballfields and children's playground,
and acres of land for walking or resting.
The park stands north to
the new Rails to Trails site on the old Milwaukee Rail bed.
Further south, the Musselshell River meanders through the valley.

The park also hosts a Montana State Rest Stop.

Visitors rave about Chief Joseph Park,
and so do we!
