Clerk of District Court

Elected position that serves as clerk of district court. This court monitors felony charges, child and family lawn, and civil cases over $7,000. This court maintains marriage records, probates, and passports.
County Treasure's Office

This office is the money keeper for the county and the county school districts. Collects taxes, licence's vehicles, invests county and school money, and sells drivers licenses.
Department of Revenue

Appraisal - assessment of all taxable property in Wheatland County. Formerly the County Assessors Office, but is now owned by the State of Montana.

This office handles and administers food stamps, medicaid, and tanf cash programs. The Child and Family services department of the office handles child abuse/neglect cases and investigations, and family services. This is a State office.
Wheatland County Clerk and Recorder's Office

This office is in charge of Recording documents, birth and death information, land transactions, deeds/morgages, certificates of survey, corner recordation, commissioners proceedings, elections, paying county claims, county payroll, budgeting, cemetery indexing, selling's plots, and coordinating county businesses.
Wheatland County Justice of the Peace

This is a elected position that serves as the "People's Court". This court monitors small claims, civil matters, up to $7,000 misdemeanor and traffic offenses, and domestic matters. The Justice of the Peace may also perform civil wedding ceremonies.
Wheatland County Superintendent of Schools

Elected position that serves all of the schools in the county. This office maintains financial record for all of the schools in Wheatland County and reports the information to the public. The mills are levied through this office and school censes and trusted records are maintained in this office.
MSU Extension Agent
~ Mandie Reed
MSU/Wheatland County Extension connects the people in the community with research at the university to help them improve their lives. Extension has four legs, or areas of focus. Those are 4-H and youth development, agriculture, family and consumer science and community development. The Whealtand County Senior Citizens Center has a very active program including meals at the center and delivered to homes, a senior van, health screenings, crafts and pinochle.
Wheatland County Information
Wheatland County is managed by a 3 member board of County Commissioners who are elected for six year terms. Various department heads are elected officials. The county employs cemetery maintenance and a road crew.
Wheatland County Ambulance Service is a staffed by nationally certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's) Two ambulances are in service, and air ambulance service is available on-call from Billings or Great Falls.
Wheatland Memorial Healthcare/Bair Memorial Clinic includes a 25 bed Critial Access Hospital, emergency room services , and radiology/lab.
Wheatland County Senior Center provides meal delivery, socialization, and shuttle service to Billings appointments.
