![]() They say that Montana is "The Last Best Place." Well, Harlowton and Wheatland County may be "The Last Best Place in the Last Best Place." All sorts of opportunities are available in this little-noticed area of Montana. We have great people, good schools, excellent health care, diverse recreational, historical, and cultural activities, not to mention GOLF. What remains unsaid is that the business climate is ripe for added development. The City of Harlowton owns the Industrial Park east of town, which has properties available for long-term lease at $1 per year. Cream of the West cereal company presently resides there after purchase and relocation five years ago from Billings. The City Council and County Commission are most happy to cooperate and support new business ventures as well as older operations interested in settling here. In 2005, Invenergy built the 90-tower Judith Gap Wind Energy Center between Harlowton and Judith Gap with the tax incentives from the State of Montana and Wheatland County. Other success stories in recent times include Elk River Systems, Rocky Mountain Cookware, Snowy Mountain Coffee. Yours could be the next. Please contact the Chamber with any questions. We will get back with you at your convenience. |
