Bair Family Museum - Martinsdale

The Bair Family Museum
Martinsdale, MT

Harlowton boasts a history filled with
the movements of cowboys and settlers of the West,
mining endeavors in the area mountains,
Richard Harlow and the Jawbone Railroad,
and the historic Milwaukee Road with its electric trains.

Today, these memories can be recaptured in many ways.
Libraries and the internet can be an assist to you.
But, better yet, come visit our highly regarded museums.

The Upper Musselshell Museum
(with two buildings on Central Avenue in Harlowton)
offers a treasure trove of central Montana history
plus Avaceratops (dinosaur).
The Bair Family Museum in nearby Martinsdale
displays the eclectic collections of
rancher, entrepreneur and adventurer,
Charles M. Bair
and his own treasured daughters,
Marguerite and Alberta.

The City-County Preservation Committee
is readying the old Milwaukee Depot
to be an indoor and outdoor gallery
of railroad memorabilia.
Look for it to open in 2007.

Both the Milwaukee Depot and
the Graves Hotel are on the National Historic Registry
